Founded by Gary Cannon, our bar is lovingly known as “Gary’s.”  Gary’s is a place with a commitment to healthy living, beer loving people who come together (most of the time) in perfect harmony. Gary, originally from central New Jersey, moved to Dewey in the 80’s after playing football at the University of Delaware. He joined his college teammates in Dewey for a summer, and got a job tending bar at the Bottle & Cork. He quickly noticed the lack of healthy food options at the beach, and decided to open up his own establishment in 1991, focusing on being one of the first Dewey Beach restaurants to offer alternatives to traditional beach fare. Over the years, Gary’s expanded its menu to include sushi, pastas, and Cajon dishes. Gary’s has become a beloved part of the Dewey Beach community, serving up healthy food, fantastic brews, and good times, for well over three decades.
